I recently had the pleasure to sit down with Judy Paul, a 20-year Vistage NYC member, and CEO of The Washington Square Hotel & North Square Restaurant, to discuss how being an active member of Vistage has continued to provide high-value to her.
Below is what Judy had to share about being an active member of a Vistage CEO group.
“One of the main things I’ve learned as a CEO, is that I don’t have all the answers. Vistage helps shatter the old adage, “it’s lonely at the top.
As a member of a Vistage CEO group for more than 20 years, I’ve developed better decision making skills, appreciated the supportive environment, and garnered greater confidence in operating my business more effectively.
Vistage has acted as an objective board of directors for us. It helped our small family business develop strategic objectives, the most significant being a successful buyout of our limited partners. I continue to learn and try to incorporate ideas generated from each meeting and triad. I think our annual retreat is an extremely vital contributor to the success of our group. It provides us the time to form closer bonds with each other and explore more business and personal issues in depth.”
I’d like to personally congratulate Judy on her 20-year anniversary!
The Washington Square Hotel has provided a haven for writers, artists, and visitors for more than a century. Today, savvy travelers enjoy stylish accommodations, warm service, fine dining and easy access to the best of lower Manhattan. In addition to the hotel, Judy is the CEO of the award winning North Square Restaurant. The restaurant is a quintessential New York bistro, with a sophisticated yet uncomplicated approach to food that is at once serious and accessible. Both the hotel and restaurant are located on historic Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village.
