Congratulations to Vistage NYC CEO Mark DiMassimo!

congratulations to vistage nyc ceo mark dimassimo

Mark DiMassimo was recently recognized as a three-time winner of the SmartCEO’s Future 50 Award. The SmartCEO’s Future 50 Award recognizes 50 of the region’s fastest growing, mid-sized companies. It’s not surprising that Mark’s company, DiMassimo Goldstein, won this coveted award because his company has also been a three-time Inc. 5000 winner.

DiMassimo Goldstein is an INSPIRING ACTION marketing agency, which helps change leaders build brands and businesses that help people make more inspiring decisions and form more empowering habits. As a three-year member of Vistage NYC, Mark not only inspires fellow group members but challenges them to look at situations from different perspectives.

What I love about Mark is his commitment to use his plethora of marketing knowledge, “for the good.” Mark always takes the high road, and uses his skills to help people to invest, experience, and learn things that are of high value. Mark inspires me and I’m proud that he’s a member of our Vistage NYC group.

I thought it’d be a good idea to share two questions that I had asked Mark, in the hopes that his answers may help you, grow your business.

1. What has been your greatest take-away as a Vistage member?

In the long run, a business leader is as good as his or her support system. Smarts and experience are key, but no one person has all the smarts and all the kinds of experience that make for reaching full potential. Business leaders are a lot alike. We share so many of the same experiences and come to have very similar perspectives. This is reassuring. At Vistage, I found my tribe. But each of us brings different strengths and a different lens to the same issue. Discussing an issue with the group is always an eye-opener.

2. If you were to advise a new CEO, what advice would you give?

Get your external support system worked out from the beginning. It need not be lonely at the top, but it certainly will be if you only have interested parties (employees, partners, bosses, investors, board members, etc.) and family to support you. If you lack the right external support system, you’ll likely lean too heavily on your team, and this often creates unfortunate repercussions. You may think you have no time for an outside commitment such as Vistage, but all the members of my Vistage group have found that perspective and a strong support system create much more time than they take. I would advise any new CEO to give Vistage a try.

If you’re already a Vistage NYC member, please help me in congratulating one of our own in winning the SmartCEO’s Future 50 Award, and if you’re not a current Vistage NYC member, I’d suggest reaching out to me via my contact form, and discussing how we can get you to one of our exciting upcoming events.
