Double your Productivity thru Technology with Vistage Expert Dave Nelsen

Change is the only constant in the business world, accelerating at an unprecedented rate.

Charles Darwin once said,

“It’s not the strongest or most intelligent that survive, but those that adapt to a changing environment most quickly.”

This statement rings true in the business world, where the ability to adapt quickly can be the difference between success and failure.

Remember Blackberry?

As a long-time tech CEO and Vistage Speaker of the Year, Dave Nelson has learned a thing or two about leveraging technology to stay ahead of the curve. In this workshop, he’ll be sharing some of his personal tips and tricks for using technology more effectively. Whether you’re an Android or iPhone user, or even if you prefer the old-fashioned pen and paper, there’s something for everyone.

According to Microsoft, the average corporate worker loses 76 hours a year manually looking for notes and documents. But what if I told you there’s a way to reclaim those hours? With tools you will learn, you can create a second brain that stores and retrieves information in a non-hierarchical, tag-based system. It’s nothing short of an information management revolution.

Multitasking is a myth. In fact, multitaskers are 40% less productive. But with the right tools, you can streamline your workflow and increase your productivity. With practices such as using email “rules”, to grouping similar emails together, to adopting communication platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams, there’s a wealth of options available to help you work smarter, not harder.

And it’s not just about work. Tools like Waze, podcasts, and audiobooks can help you make the most of your commute, while fitness apps like FitBit and Seven can help you improve your sleep and exercise habits, making you smarter in the process.

The key is to take control of your inbox and your time so you can master these tools and be ready for the ones arriving tomorrow.

  • So, how are you adapting to the rapidly changing business environment?
  • What tools or strategies have you found most effective?
